The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry is reporting the kiwifruit disease Psa is no longer contained to just Te Puke. Psa tests have returned positive on two orchards in the Napier/Hastings area and also on two orchards in the Edgecumbe and Whakatane areas.

MAF's response manager David Yard says these four new positive test results outside of Te Puke indicate a wider problem.
Also, three new positive test results have been received for properties in Te Puke, bringing the total number of confirmed Psa positive orchards to 25.
The total number of properties under the control of Restricted Place Notices is now increased to 28.
