Tauranga MP Simon Bridges wasn't approached to be a star on a new television show featuring politicians, but he thinks it will make a good show.
The proposed show is understood to be called 'Make Your Politician Work' and is being produced by Great Southern Television.
The production company is seeking to present politicians in a human light and show the effects their policies have on people.
'It's a good way to ‘humanise' us and show people we are ordinary and approachable people like anybody else,” says Simon.
There are plans for eight episodes, each following a different politician.
Simon says he was not asked to be on the show but thought it would be good to see politicians do some of the things out of their normal political context.
Simon was supposed to be on TV One's Good Morning show this week cooking his ‘easy peasy frittata', but was unable to appear to cook his favourite recipe as he couldn't get leave from Parliament.
'I was all geared up for it. I might do it another time.”
