What are people thinking? Thinking of moving, I am. Another 3 years of dribbly pondering, largely by the dithering incumbents. The dream fades...

Where are the women?

Pretty pathetic to only have one woman elected to council in a city this size. Geez I thought it was 2010 not 1910. And it all looks pretty vanilla too. I guess thats what you get when most people can't even be bothered voting. Nice to see Tony Christiansen in though. He should bring a fresh motivated perspective to the city.

Better but not good enough

Two losers, who have held this City back for the last two terms, remain while at least two really good candidates, who could have real contribution, have missed out. On the positive side, we have a good leader, and a majority of good people this time. And the most dangerous candidate of all missed out on both the mayoralty and a council post. Thank goodness for that - people have seen the trees through the ego driven fog! And none of the three candiates promoted by a high profile ACT supporter (although one of them denies he is tarred with that brush) all missed out. Yahoo! Graeme - multiple ratepayer, no more, no less.

Well done Tony (Toenails), My vote for Deputy... Murray can be the new Council tractor driver and Rick, you can collect the tolls on the Te Puke Bypass. At least for the last two it will keep you busy and let Stuart get on with leading the city forward.

Non voters let us down

How can ratepayers complain about council and the councillors when they choose not to vote. Apathy has voters and things will not get any better. Same councillors, equals same results. Only 1 person I voted for got in, good luck Tony.
