Georgia goes top in NZ

Ten year old country music singer Georgia Baker-Trebilco is now New Zealand Country Music Association Junior Entertainer of the Year.

See video below of Georgia singing a song she performed on her way to becoming New Zealand Country Music Association Junior Entertainer of the Year.

After performing against five other finalists from around the country at the competition held in Rotorua at the weekend, the judges, including New Zealand entertainer great Gray Bartlett, awarded Gerogia the prize for her performances which included singing Cowboy Sweetheart and a sped up yodel.

Mother Rachael says Georgia stood out from the other performers owing to an entertainment factor, 'she made a good connection with the crowd”.

Rachael says Georgia has sung all her life, but began singing country at age eight when she joined the Mount Maunganui Country Music Club.

Georgia's next scheduled performance is on Saturday, October 30 at the Te Puke Country Music 20th Annual Charity Concert.
