Directly question the candidates

People finding it hard to make up their minds as to who to vote for in the Tauranga City Council election might now find their answer just a few digits away.
A new phone service that enables the public to call and leave a voice message for the candidates is now working.

People can dial (07) 985 6171 to ask Tauranga City Council candidates questions.

People dial (07) 985 6171 and then following the prompts, leave a question for the candidates to respond to. The message is then forwarded on to all subscribed candidates.
Within half a day of setting up the phone line on Monday, over half the candidates had subscribed.
Candidates then respond to people's questions in their own time, via email or phone, depending on their preference.
People are advised to leave their contact information in their voice message to provide ease of response for the candidates.

People are also able to email their questions to all candidates.
The email address is: [email protected]
