Mortgagee sales climb

Tauranga accounted for almost half the total number of mortgagee sales in the Bay of Plenty during September according to Terralink International figures.
After a lull in August, mortgagee sales in Tauranga hit another high, with 12 sales recorded.

Figures from Terralink International show the 12 Tauranga mortgagee sales were among the 22 in the Bay of Plenty during September.
Tauranga recorded six mortgagee sales in August.
Terralink International managing director Mike Donald says record mortgagee figures across the country follow an uncharacteristic dip in mortgagee sales in August.
'The recession isn't just hurting people in the big cities, small town New Zealand is clearly hurting too.
'The continuing increase in mortgagee sales came as no surprise because all indicators showed the worst was not over for property owners. I don't think we'll see a true decline until sometime next year,” says Mike.
