Help kindy get back on track

Coromandel MP Scott Simpson is collecting supplies for the Paeroa kindergarten after it was burnt down last week – and he wants your help.

On July 19, an alleged arson attack on the Central Kids Kindergarten left the building a shell of its former self.

The suspicious fire gutted the entire building of the early childhood centre on Paeroa's Arney St and police and fire safety officer's search later found the office had been broken in to before the building was set alight.

'Thoughtless idiots burnt down the Paeroa kindergarten and now a whole lot of little kids have lost their beloved kindy,” says Scott.

'I've been to see the site and it's very distressing to see the burned-out building. This is terribly sad for the entire community.”

Scott says together the community can help the kindergarten get back on track – 'and I'm asking for your support”.

The kindergarten needs art and craft supplies, as well as toys, books and dress-up clothes, says Scott.

'As a community we can all help the kindy get back on its feet. If you're in Thames, please drop donations to my office at 614 Pollen St, or at branches of Harcourts Real Estate in Paeroa, Te Aroha, and Waihi.

'I will deliver it all in a few weeks when the teachers are setting up at a new temporary location,” says Scott.

The kindergarten also has a fundraising page at https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/paeroakindergartenfire
