Bay chorus goes to capital

Tauranga's Harmony a Plenty men's barbershop chorus performed at a birthday party at No. 1 The Strand last weekend and is now preparing for Sounds Capital.

The 2009 New Zealand Association of Barbershop Singers conference and competition, Sounds Capital, is in Wellington later this year.
Twenty members of the 25-strong Bay of Plenty chorus will compete against singers from around the country at the event, on September 18-20.
The group is led by musical director Gary Taylor of Rotorua and is currently raising money for the trip to Wellington.
Harmony a Plenty is available to perform at events and for organisations. The chorus sings songs such as Down by the Riverside, When I'm 64 and Breaking Up is Hard to Do.
