New leaky home lawyers at Mt

A large number of proven and suspected leaky homes in the Bay of Plenty are behind specialist leaky home lawyers Grimshaw & Co opening a Mount Maunganui office.
"We are already representing a number of Bay of Plenty leaky home owners via our Auckland office," says partner Paul Grimshaw.

"However, the size of the potential problem in the area and our desire to be 'hands on' in the local community has encouraged us to open an office in Mount Maunganui.
"The leaky home crisis is of staggering proportions. Unfortunately, owners of leaky buildings are faced with really tough decisions. In most cases, some form of dispute resolution or litigation is required to make those responsible for the problem pay up.
"The problem is compounded by the fact that the claim process needs to be started within 10 years of the house being built," says Paul.
"In some cases, buildings aren't yet experiencing leaks within that period."
Grimshaw & Co's Bay of Plenty office at 126 Maunganui Road opened this week and is headed by partner Jane McTavish Butler and associate Bryan Easton.
They plan to host a series of free community seminars in the coming months.
