Otumoetai Kindergarten students are following in the footsteps of Kiwi sculptor Jeff Thomson designing corrugated artworks made from 70 metres of cardboard.
After visiting Tauranga Art Gallery's Corrugations exhibition the children were inspired by Jeff's corrugated iron Morris Minor, ‘chooks' French knitting and flower bouquets.

They decided to put together their own corrugated designs and have spent the last seven weeks crafting the creations for the exhibition on today.
Designs include a 9ft tall robot and dress made from 70 metres of 'twisted” cardboard.
Otumoetai Kindergarten head teacher Kaine Smith says the exhibition combines children's paintings and photography. He says Corrugated has inspired the children so much they are asking their parents for a second visit to the gallery.
'It's been a really good relationship between the art gallery and us.
'It adds to the depth of understanding and opens their minds to community links. They can go to the gallery and be inspired and create their own stuff.”
The works are on display at the kindergarten today.
