The scholarships will be awarded at end-of-year school prizegivings.
Bay of Plenty Education Trust chairperson Roger Loveridge says 183 scholarships, to the total value of $757,500, have been awarded since the programme was established in 2000.
Scholarship recipients come from colleges from Katikati to Opotiki and Kawerau, with two scholarships available each year to each of the bigger colleges.
The monetary value of the scholarship and the number of annual recipients has increased across the years.
The scholarships are for exemplary students planning to pursue tertiary education in 2014 in the general fields of science, technology and emerging industries.
The $5750 is paid in instalments through the course of the students' studies.
The BOP Education Trust is not about solely scholarships. It also aims to develop future leaders within Bay of Plenty communities.
Trust members include Roger Loveridge, Ses MacKinnon, Michael Batchelor, John Burn, Pauline Cowens, Brian Scantlebury, Peter Wood, John Revington and Aileen Lawrie.
