Students at Mount Maunganui Primary School are under attack – an Art Attack.

Students have spent the last term painting, paper-machéing, drawing and creating artworks to for an exhibition celebrating Term 2's visual art focus titled ‘Art Attack'.

Some of the art work on display at Mount Maunganui primary School's art exhibition – ‘Art Attack'.

The exhibition on this week until Thursday features a selection of the students' work principal Damien Harris describes as 'astounding”.

Damien says throughout the term students have learned about artists and artworks, and how art can be created from different media.

'The students were really engaged throughout this topic and the artwork on display here is testament to that.

'The pieces are all quite different from clay to the paper-maché to environmental art.”

Damien says students have gained further knowledge of both local and international artists and many can name famous artworks based on their learning experiences in class.

For a gold coin donation parents can visit the exhibition at the school hall. All funds raised will go towards art supplies.
