Parts of the city streets are closed today as students at the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic march the streets in their annual Orientation Week parade.

More than 100 students paraded through the streets starting from Durham Street at 3.30pm ending up on The Strand.

O-Week is held at the beginning of the academic year at a university or tertiary education where a number of events are held to welcome new students.
