Police are making inquiries to locate a vehicle and its driver after it failed to stop in Te Puke on Monday evening.

Police said the vehicle fled from police about 6.30pm, prompting officers to attempt to stop it on multiple occasions.

Police deployed road spikes several times during the incident; however, the vehicle continued without stopping.

“Inquiries are ongoing to identify and locate both the vehicle and its driver.

“Residents in the area may notice an increased police presence while officers carry out their investigations.”
