Weather warnings are no longer in place, but Monday's strong winds left hundreds without electricity.

Powerco's website showed 136 power cuts across the Manawatū-Whanganui, Taranaki, Bay of Plenty, and Waikato regions.

Powerco said 44 properties in Ashhurst had been without power since 7.05pm on Monday due to a fault on the feeder.

The electricity company said a power cut affecting 13 properties in Ashhurst since Monday afternoon appeared to be wind-related, but was still under investigation.

It said a smaller power cut in Upokongaro, affecting six properties, was due to trees hitting lines on Monday afternoon.

Powerco crews were assessing affected sites and working to restore power, it said.

Unison's website showed about 40 properties without electricity in Hastings, Napier, and Taupō.
