Ross Weir, 71, was reported missing from his Pukehina Parade home early on August 19.
Bay of Plenty Police search and rescue manager Inspector Phil Gillbanks said all residential properties along the Pukehina Spit, the surrounding land and the estuary had been searched.
He said police searched the coastline with help from Surf Lifesaving New Zealand members at the weekend.
“While land-based search teams have been withdrawn from search efforts for the time being, police are continuously working to establish Ross’ movements.
“There will still be a daily reconnaissance search of the shoreline, alongside assessing all available CCTV footage and information provided by the public.”
Police urged anyone with information or sightings of Weir to contact police.
