Police are investigating a serious assault after a person turned up at a medical centre in Mount Maunganui with significant injuries this afternoon.

Police said the victim was taken to hospital for further care.

“Police are speaking with the victim and carrying out inquiries to identify and locate those believed to be involved in the assault.”

No arrests have been reported at this stage, and investigations continue.
