Center barrier fiasco

The residents of Wright Road have witnessed many accidents now at the Wright Road and Morton Estate center barriers. Both of these center barriers are NON-COMPLİANT with the NZTAs own safety standards. The taper start for these center barriers are meant to be a minimum 150 meters from bridge abutments. The Wright Road one starts at 64 meters. Any logical person would recognize a correlation because it is not happening where these center barriers are compliant. Sort it out NZTA.
Fire Services attended too. Detours, please.

NZ Police Traffic alerted drivers at 5:20pm Sunday night about this sad crash at Dawson Road on SH2, Aongatete. In addition to the above report, at least two fire appliances attended plus a Red Paramedic style ambulance, many Police patrol cars, and a Tow Truck. A Fire Services Officer, on foot, kindly visited the drivers of the many stopped vehicles to give two brief updates during the two hours waiting for the tow truck to arrive to clear a lane of escape.
There are no side road loops that enable Detours. Should be. It is a known high crash site with the cable median and verges wired off to prevent escape out of the lanes.
People are considerate of Crash situations but a Two Hour cold stoppage on a darkening highway is too long when you have Animal Welfare duties waiting, 30 min away.

I would like to say our emergency services acted promptly. Considering two sets of major accidents in close proximity, they shifted traffic rather quickly. I happened to be in the line of traffic from about 5:40-7:50pm. Thanks to our emergency service providers, we'll done.
