A Tauranga Lotto player is celebrating a weekend windfall after winning more than $16,000 in Lotto Second Division on Saturday night.

The winning ticket was sold at Bethlehem Express Supermarket & Lotto in Tauranga and was one of 17 winning tickets sold nationwide in Lotto’s Second Division.

The lucky winner will take home $16,047 after matching five numbers and the bonus ball, Lotto New Zealand said in a media release.

While no player won Powerball, meaning the jackpot rolls over to $10 million for Wednesday night’s draw, four Second Division winners also struck Powerball Second Division.

That boosted their total prize to $20,517.

Saturday’s top prize went to a Napier player, who won $1 million with Lotto First Division on a ticket purchased through MyLotto.

Meanwhile, Strike Four was not been won and has rolled over to $400,000 for Wednesday’s draw.

The Tauranga win was one of several successful tickets sold across the North Island, with other Second Division prizes claimed in Whangārei, Ōrewa, Auckland, Waihī, Hamilton and Whakatāne.

Lotto New Zealand is encouraging all players who bought tickets from Bethlehem Express Supermarket & Lotto to check their tickets and claim any prizes.
