Motorists travelling on State Highway 29 over the Ruahihi Bridge will face delays this week as overnight maintenance gets underway.
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi said in a media release that work will run from Sunday, June 28, until 6am on Friday, July 3, with crews operating between 9pm and 6am each night.
During these hours, stop/go traffic management and lane closures will be in place to keep workers and road users safe, with delays expected.
The roading agency said a temporary 30km/h speed limit may also remain in force through the site during the day while the work is underway.
“Drivers are being urged to allow extra time for their journeys and take care when travelling through the area.
“The work is weather-dependent, with motorists advised to check travel conditions before setting out via the NZTA Journey Planner or official channels.”
