A “super weekend” of construction is planned next week on State Highway 29/Takitimu Drive Toll Rd and State Highway 2/Takitimu Drive.
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) said in a media release that closures would be in place from Friday, June 5, to Monday, June 8.
The agency said the works were needed as construction ramps up on the Takitimu North Link project, particularly where SH2 and SH29 merge.
Crews will carry out road widening, pavement construction, barrier installation and layout changes. Temporary closures are required to keep both workers and motorists safe.
NZTA said drivers should expect delays, especially around SH29 at Tauriko and SH2 near 15th Ave.
Motorists were urged to allow extra time, reduce speed and follow all traffic management in place.
