A Tauranga highway has reopened following a diesel spill.

State Highway 29A near Oropi Rd was closed this morning while the spill was cleared with traffic being diverted, police said.

A Bay of Plenty Times reader said the road was now open but traffic management was in place.

Police said motorists should take care on the surrounding roads, expect delays and seek an alternative route or delay travel if possible.
