The Rotary Club of Tauranga is once again seeking donations of preloved books, art, puzzles and magazines for their 2026 Book and Art Sale.
This year’s event will be the 39th time the Book and Art Sale has run as a fundraising event.
Proceeds from previous sales have been gifted to the likes of Riding for the Disabled, Foodbank, Kindergartens, Polio, Outward Bound, Schools, Te Puna Quarry Park, K Valley, Blind Low Vision NZ, Child Cancer Foundation, Trees for Survival, Under the Stars, Life Education Trust and others.
“The proceeds from our annual book and art sale allow us to commit to many longer-term community projects in a meaningful way, giving sustainability to some vital initiatives,” club president Sue Boyne said.
Rotarian Jill Best has been involved in the Book and Art Sale for the past five years.
“I keep coming back because I love to see such a wide variety of interesting books,” Best explained.
“I love working with a happy team of people with similar interests, I love how much money is made for charities, and I love being part of a community event enjoyed by over 2000 people each year.”
Boyne said the success of the book and art sale was dependent on the donation of quality preloved books and arts, and an army of Rotary volunteers are ready to sort them in advance of the sale.
“We have a range of drop off points around the community and we invite and encourage the public to gather up their books, magazines puzzles and the likes and drop them off this month so our volunteers can start the huge task of sorting them,” Boyne said.
