Motorists travelling north on State Highway 2 (SH2) through Whakamarama are being warned to expect delays following a truck breakdown late this morning.

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency confirmed the incident occurred about 11.34am on June 13, partially blocking the northbound lane of SH2 in the Whakamarama area.

Emergency services and roading crews are on site, but there is no indication yet of how long the disruption will last.

There are no alternative routes available at this stage.

Drivers are urged to exercise caution and allow extra time for their journeys, especially during the afternoon peak period.
