Applications are now open for a scholarship providing financial assistance to people with significant disabilities wishing to undertake tertiary study.
The Dillon Scholarship is funded and operated by BayTrust and recognises the particular efforts people with disabilities have to make to obtain tertiary education and the extra financial costs they may incur.
The Scholarship offers a maximum of $4000 each year for up to four years of study.
Last year the Trust approved $116,000 in Dillon Scholarships to 64 students.
Past recipients have often commented on how encouraging it is that funding opportunities such as these exist.
Students undertake a variety of courses in industries such as nursing, engineering, counselling, computer studies and motoring.
For more information contact 07 578 6546 or 0800 654 546 or visit www.baytrust.org.nz
Applications must be received by December 31 for those planning to pursue tertiary study in 2013.
