Rugby tackling her teenage son to stop him going out is one of Anne Harvey's less successful parenting methods – but it is one of the funny stories she will tell in her parenting presentations in Tauranga this week.
SunLive met with the solo mother, author and life coach at Tauranga Airport today where she divulged a few snippets from her upcoming presentation ‘Maybe men are right – women talk too much'.
Having raised four sons on her own, Anne is offering parents her tried and tested methods for a smooth transition from boy to man – and she is not afraid to disclose her failed approaches.
'The challenge is the change from the boy being a boy, to him becoming a man. The most important thing is to maintain the relationship with them,” says Anne.
'I've definitely got some things that can help parents. I'm pretty honest about how unsuccessful some of my early attempts were.”
The presentations are at Tauranga Intermediate Hall at 7.30pm on Tuesday and Mount Maunganui College Hall at 7.30pm on Wednesday.
