Police can now confirm the motorcyclist involved in a crash in Rotorua on Monday morning has died.

"The crash, involving another car, happened shortly before 11.30am on Lake Road," says a police spokesperson.

Lake Road was closed at the intersection with Bennetts Road for some time following the crash.

"The road has now reopened."

The Serious Crash Unit has been advised.
