Enquiries are underway to locate a driver of car that has crashed into a tree in Te Puna.

A police spokesperson says they received a report of a vehicle having hit a tree at about 10.05am on Te Puna Road, Te Puna.

No serious injuries have been reported.

The road is clear.

"The driver of the vehicle had left the scene before police arrived," says a police spokesperson.

"Enquiries are underway to locate the driver."
