Maunganui Road is now clear following a vehicle crash earlier.

Emergency services, including police, fire and ambulance, responded to a two-vehicle collision on Maunganui Road near Hewletts Road shortly before 1am.

"No injuries appear to have been reported," says a police spokesperson.

A SunLive reader reports hearing the crash from Links Ave.

"I heard a funny noise like a whip then heard the ambulance even though I live on Links Ave. Several cop cars present, fire engine and ambulance. The ambulance was parked on the Maunganui/Golf/Hewletts roundabout and was still there an hour later."

"The cars were initially blocking the road but have now been cleared," says a police spokesperson.
