Police can now release the name of the motorcyclist who died in a crash on Ohiwa Beach Road, Ōpōtiki on Monday January 2.

"He was 17-year-old Tighe Ryan, of Rotorua," says a police spokesperson.

"Police extends our condolences to Tighe's family and friends."
