Road clear following SH29A crash near Poike

UPDATE 6.01pm: SH29A near Poike is now clear following a crash at around 3.50pm, according to a Waka Kotahi NZTA spokesperson.

Traffic is moving slowly according to Google Maps, but should start flowing smoothly as any remaining congestion flows through.

Earlier 3.51pm: Major congestion is forming after a crash on SH29A near Poike, according to a Tauranga City Council spokesperson.

"Southbound lane is blocked," says the spokesperson.

"Emergency services are en route.

"Major congestion is forming. Expect delays."

According to a police spokesperson, the crash occurred at around 3.50pm near the Oropi Road intersection.

"It appears no one was injured and the road was not blocked."

According to Google Maps, traffic is moving slowly in the area.

Great nobody was injured. The real is a dead hedgehog crossing the road would cause delays in our fine city.
