Emergency services are responding to the scene of a crash on State Highway 2 near Whakamarama.

Police were notified of the two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Pahoia Road and SH 2 around 1pm.

Waka Kotahi NZTA advise that due to the crash blocking a lane on SH2 near Pahoia Road, there may be traffic delays.

"Pass the scene with care," says an NZTA spokesperson.

"Follow directions of emergency services onsite."

It is unknown at this stage if there are any injuries.
