Police are currently responding to weather-related incidents on Tairua Road, Hikuwai which are affecting access to eastern Coromandel settlements.

The road is blocked 1 km north of McBeth Road and motorists are advised to seek an alternative route and to expect delays, says a police spokesperson

"It's also reported that the one-lane bridge to Pauanui is impassable, motorists are advised to seek an alternative route or to limit travel until the situation is resolved."

A SunLive reader has also emailed to say there are delays on the Waikato Expressway.

They say there is a truck crash near Taupiri.

"It took an hour just to get through. People should expect delays."
