SH30 reopened following two-vehicle crash

Update, 8.10pm: State Highway 30 between Tikitere and Rotoma has now reopened following a serious two-vehicle crash on Sunday afternoon.

Police received a report of the crash about 1.15pm.

The road was closed and diversions put in place.

The road is no open again.

Update, 2.30pm: State Highway 30 between Tikitere and Rotoma remains closed following a serious two-vehicle crash.

A detour is in place, says Waka Kotahi NZTA.

Eastbound traffic turn left at Tikitere onto SH33 then right onto SH2 then right onto SH34 to rejoin SH30. Westbound traffic in reverse.

"Please delay your journey or use an alternative route," says a Waka Kotahi NZTA spokesperson.

Earlier, 1.45pm: Emergency services are at the scene of a serious two-vehicle crash on State Highway 30 between Tikitere and Rotoma.

Police received a report of the crash about 1.15pm.

"The road is closed and diversions will be in place," says a police spokesperson.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.

"Please delay your journey or use an alternative route," says a Waka Kotahi NZTA spokesperson. " Follow the direction of emergency services."
