Creative Bay of Plenty has established an exciting new leadership role to support the work and engagement of Ngā Toi Māori artists in Tauranga and the Western Bay of Plenty district.
Reporting directly to the board, the Ngā Toi Māori Navigator will be responsible for leading engagement with Māori artists and arts practitioners, providing strategic advice on the direction and development of the Ngā Toi Māori sector, advocating on behalf of ringatoi and providing specialist knowledge to support funding, investment and strategic planning decisions.
'This full time, permanent role will help shape the future direction of Creative Bay of Plenty's operations and play a key part in achieving its strategic objectives, embodying its organisational values, facilitating valuable collaborative opportunities, and supporting the success and empowerment of indigenous artists,” says a spokesperson for Creative Bay of Plenty.
'As an organisation, Creative Bay of Plenty is working to build their Māori cultural knowledge, skills and capability.
'This role will help inform their organisational culture and the competencies of staff to deliver work and programmes effectively, as well as meet their responsibilities under Te Tiriti o Waitangi.”
