One man has been arrested following a crash with a police car in Arataki early on Saturday morning.

A resident of Eversham Road says the incident started at 2am.

"Another accident in Eversham Road, involving a police car,' says the resident.

"It seems Eversham Road is a race track. Some speed bumps would help."

Police say that there was a crash on Saturday morning where a police vehicle was reportedly struck on Eversham Road about 2am.

"An 18-year-old man was arrested and is due to appear in Tauranga District Court on October 28 on a dangerous driving charge," says a police spokesperson.

The resident says that the police car was towed at 3.51am.

Seems unfortunately to be a little lawless around this part of town, can’t see how some individuals on too loud to be legal Harley’s and cars doing obviously illegal speeds on 50km roads are able to. Something was bound to happen again….and it’ll happen again, maybe someone else dying will change something, speed bumps if the authorities gave a rats….been going on for a long time so maybe they don’t.
