Road slips on State Highway 2 and State Highway 5 are causing delays in traffic.

Due to a slip, SH2 between Awakeri and Opotiki is under stop/go traffic management just west of Waiotahe.

"Please follow directions of response crews and expect delays in both directions through the area," says a Waka Kotahi NZTA spokesperson.

SH 2 Matata to (SH33) Paengaroa

Due to fallen trees and surface flooding near Pikowai Beach, lanes are blocked on SH2. Consider delaying your journey or avoiding the area if possible. Follow directions of response crews on site.

State Highway 5

Due to multiple slips, lanes are part-blocked on SH5 south of Waikite Valley Rd between Rotorua and Waiotapu.
