Watermain upgrade to cause delays on SH36

Motorists are being warned to expect delays on State Highway 36, between Tauranga and Rotorua.

There are plans in place to upgrade a watermain in the area.

Due to the planned works, a northbound closures will be in place on SH36, between Kennedy Road and Pyes Pa Road, reports the NZTA.

The closure will be in place from Monday, August 29, to Monday, October 31.

"Southbound lanes will remain open," says a post from the roading agency.

"A 30km/h temporary speed limit will be in place."

Northbound traffic will need to turn right on Pyes Pa Road and left on SH29A to rejoin SH36.
