The northbound lane of SH36 in Pyes Pa, between the Pyes Pa roundabout and Kennedy Road roundabout, will be closed from Monday, August 29 while water infrastructure is installed.

"It's expected works to install watermain and wastewater piping will be complete by mid-October, weather dependent," says a Tauranga City Council spokesperson.

Northbound lane closure on SH36 means traffic will be diverted along Pyes Pa Road and onto SH29A.

"A detour is available on Pyes Pa Road through the Pyes Pa roundabout. Traffic will stay on Pyes Pa Road towards Barkes Corner and can reconnect to SH36/ Takitimu Drive via SH29A."
