Enquiries are underway to determine the cause of a police car crash in the Western Bay of Plenty.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says they saw a police vehicle had rolled on Whakamarama Road on Tuesday night.

'It's on it's lid. And there were about six police cars up there with it.

'It was on Whakamarama Road about two corners up from the main road [State Highway 2].”

A police spokesperson says a police vehicle was involved in a single car crash around 7.10pm.

'There were no injuries or road blockages reported.

'Enquiries are underway to determine the circumstances of the crash.”
