One person has died following a crash in the Coromandel.
Police have confirmed the fatal crash this morning.
The crash happened on the Kopu-Hikuai Road (SH 25A), near the Tairua River bridge.
"The sole occupant of the vehicle, sadly died at the scene," says a police spokesperson.
"The road remains closed and motorists are asked to take alternate routes.
"Diversions are expected to be in place at Kopu to the south and at State Highway 25 to the north."
