SH25 reopens following truck crash

Update: 4.05PM: State Highway 25 has now reopened following an earlier truck crash near the roundabout with State Highway 2.

The crash happened at 10.10am trapping the driver.

Eastbound traffic has been diverted along SH2 since the crash but the highway has now been reopened.

State Highway 25 is closed for eastbound traffic, due to a truck crash near the roundabout with State Highway 2.

Eastbound traffic is directed to use SH2 towards Ngatea, turn left onto Canal E Rd to SH25.

Emergency services are in attendance at a truck crash at the intersection of SH25 and SH2, Waitakaruru.

The crash happened at 10.10am trapping the driver.

Earlier, 10.45am:

A truck crash on State Highway 25 near the roundabout with State Highway 2 has resulted in both lanes on SH25 being blocked.

Emergency services are in attendance at a truck crash at the intersection of SH25 and SH2, Waitakaruru.

The crash occurred about 10.10am.

"The truck has rolled and the driver is currently trapped," says a Police spokesperson.

"The truck's container reportedly collided with another car as it rolled, however initial indications are the occupants of the car are not seriously injured."

Motorists planning to travel on SH25 between Waitakaruru and Kopu are advised to expect delays and drive with caution in the area.

Traffic management is being put in place and motorists are asked to avoid the area.

"Please follow directions of emergency services and allow extra time for your journey," says a NZ Police spokesperson.
