Was the Motor Bike speeding?

There is a pedestrian crossing where the accident occurred . I would be interested to know if the two who were killed were walking across the road at the lights on the green light or red light or whether they were crossing over an open part of the road. The other question I would ask is "was the motorcyclist speeding" . Being a built up area there would be lighting . Too many people are dying on New Zealand roads many through no fault of there own.
Awful

if you lived on SH2 you heard these 2 fools barreling back and forth and apparently racing each other between Whakatane and Tauranga on the state highways. I was at pizzahut when the call went out over coms about it. Fes hours after the accident I only heard one of them speeding back towards Whakatane though.
