A temporary speed limit is in place on State Highway 25 in the Coromandel peninsula due to slippery conditions.

Waka Kotahi NZTA have advised that mud has washed onto the road between Coromandel and Te Rerenga.

Motorists are advised that a temporary speed limit is in place and to drive with caution in the area.

The area affected by the slippery conditions is about three kilometres east of Coromandel.
