A road washout in eastern Bay of Plenty is affecting travel on State Highway 35.

Waka Kotahi NZTA have advised that SH35 between Opotiki and Te Araroa has stop/go traffic management in place due to a washout.

The stop/go is affecting traffic travelling in both directions.

A 30 km per hour temporary speed limit is also in place.

Motorists are advised to expect delays and pass the area with care.
