Slips at Te Puna and Pikowai are causing traffic to be reduced down to one lane at both locations.

"At 11am a slip was reported on the Te Puna Station Road," says a police spokesperson.

"It is reported to be blocking the northbound lane, between Teihana Road and SH 2."

Police are responding to two blockages on State Highway 2 at Pikowai - one due to surface flooding, and one due to a lane being blocked by a slip.

The slip is near the intersection with Hauone Road and the surface flooding is slightly further west.

Motorists are advised to slow down if travelling in the two areas and prepare for delays.
