Update, 5.10pm: State Highway 41 Tokaanu has now reopened following an earlier crash.

SH41 has been closed since early on Saturday morning following a crash involving a truck and trailer and a ute.

The crash, near the intersection of Te Ponanga Saddle Road, was reported to Police at about 12am.

The truck driver was reported to be uninjured and the driver of the ute was missing.

"The driver of the ute has been located safe and well," says a Police spokesperson.

Earlier, 7.15am: Police advise that State Highway 41 Tokaanu is currently closed following an earlier crash involving a truck and trailer and a ute.

"The truck driver was uninjured however the driver of the ute is yet to be located," says a Police spokesperson.

Police are continuing to make enquiries to establish the location of the ute driver.
