There has been a single vehicle crash on State Highway 36 near Pyes Pa.

Emergency services were called to the crash site at around 9.26pm.

A SunLive reader reports that six police cars and two fire trucks attended the scene on Pyes Pa Road, located about five kilometres from Pyes Pa towards Rotorua.

Fire Emergency NZ say that fire crews from Greerton and Tauranga were set to the scene.

Police report that a single car went off the road, and the sole occupant has received minor injuries.

FENZ crews have now left the scene in the hands of Police.
