Take a collection of fairy-tales and children's novels and make all the characters come to life – that is what it looked like at Otumoetai College today.

Everyone from Snow White and Tintin to Little Bo Peep and her sheep showed up in preparation for the school's annual Bookarama fundraiser.

Tom Bennitt as Tintin, Laura Thompson as Batman, , Melody Bishop as Robin, Malisha Williamson as the Mad Hatter, Kirsty Dodd as Minnie Mouse, Sophie Ly as Red Riding Hood, Mary Mitchell as Little Bo Peep and Remma McArdle as Snow White.

Students were encouraged to dress up and bring a gold coin and book to go towards the book fair on next weekend.

The school currently has a large shipping container full of books to be sold, with proceeds going towards a new school van.

Bookarama is on at Baycourt Community Arts Centre in Durham Street from Friday, August 10 from 8am – 3.30pm to Sunday, August 12 from 9am – 12pm.

Cash only as Eftpos will not be available.
