Emergency services are responding to a serious crash on Tauranga Road, near Matamata.
A car is reported to have rolled on the highway, near Rockford Street.
A police spokesperson says initial indications are two people are injured.
"Diversions are being put in place.
"Motorists are asked to avoid the area or expect delays."
